Well, we've come to the climax....the crecendo. We've reached the top of the mountain, and it is good. In two highly intense matches, with some really solid UTV numbers (aCs-vs-DH reached 32 viewers I think), 2EZ Crew and the American Crime Syndicate were victorious, and move on to the finals. Congratulations to both teams. The finals will be a best of five map series, held this Sunday, February 27 @ 8pm. This is must see UTV people. Be here for the mayhem, mayhem, mayheeeeem!

Due to a miscommunication between the admins and captains, many of the Division 2 captains did not receive notification of the match switches. Therefore, these matches have been CANCELLED for this evening, and will be RESCHEDULED for the near future. I apologize for the error on my part; I switched the schedule last minute and apparently many of the captains did not check the forums. Thus, this is more of an admin mistake, and I do not wish to penalize the teams for my mistake.
Roster-Lock Clarification

I have been receiving a lot of questions about roster locks this season. The ONLY roster lock, will be given to the teams that do NOT reach the playoffs; this is to ensure that said teams do not dump their players in an effort to join a playoff bound team. There will be NO roster lock after Round 3. There will be NO roster lock for playoff bound teams. I hope this clears up any questions you all might have had.

After the release of the frog jump scrollbind, and the rampant usage of said bind, MLUT has decided to make the Frog Jump illegal entirely. With or without the bind, the frog jump will be made ILLEGAL once the Monday Round 3 matches are completed. That is to say, as soon as Round 3 ends and Round 4 begins, Frog Jumps are OFFICIALLY illegal. We encourage pug admins to enforce these rules as well. Thanks.

You all may have noticed the schedule shuffling around a bit in the past week. Apparently there were some miscommunications amongst the admins about how the Super Bowl conflict was going to be handled. The immediate cure was to push the Sunday matches to the day after, Monday, and leave the rest of the schedule alone, so as not to slow down the season. This was not the way the schedule was edited earlier in the week, however, it has now been edited to reflect the correct and original schedule, save for the SuperSunday matches being moved to Monday. I apologize for any confusion.

: Well, we only played one match with our top lineup. I was very confident with my top lineup. The past two matches, we didn't play so good. We had key players missing, even though we have some good complimentary backups, it's still not the same.

: Your team has been suffering offensively compared to other teams in your division. Have you made any changes to improve your production over the next few weeks?

: Yes, I made a trade just today. Royal Flush and Ztrak for Cooltown and Indoe. If it's approved by the league, I think the move will help us tremendously. The next round has maps such as Gauntlet, which is Cooltown's specialty.

: Yeah, no doubt. Assuming he isnt knee deep in WOW at the time.

: Yeah, I think he will come through and show up for matches and scrims. Now I am going to plan scrims into our game plan. We haven't scrimmed once this season, and that may have been our downfall.

: From the rest of the teams in your division, who do you see as the biggest threat to come out on top this season?
NikoN
: I believe Disposable Heroes are the biggest threat. They are undefeated in all their matches so far, and have been playing with tremendous teamwork. They have an all-star player in nanm, and great offense in mavz and a great defender in solidus. Three players from DH were in the same clan and know how to compliment eachother.

: Yeah, but you have also made that connection having imperium in your lineup.

: True, Imperium and I have been playing for years. The same can't be said about the rest of my team, but I believe the teamwork is there, and hopefully we can still make it in to the playoffs.

: Lastly, do you have any words for PBalla regarding your upcoming match?
NikoN
: Well, I'd like to tell him to bring his A game. We certainly will, and just to have fun. These upcoming rounds will make or break a team, so I expect him to bring his team well prepared.

Anti-Alias Rule.

After having a captain's poll in the private forums, it was decided that aliasing will NO LONGER be allowed this season. Players MUST play with the name they signed up with. Tags are still allowed, but the players actual nick must be plainly visible with said tag.
4.04 Aliasing
A player may not use multiple identities over the course of the season. If a player at a later time refuses to use the name they signed up with or asked by an admin to change it (with the addition of the team tag) during a match, they will be denied permission to play. Repeated offences will result in a player being suspended from play for the rest of the season.

4.055 Multiple Matches Per Round
No player may play in more than one match, or for more than one team, per round. Any player caught breaking this rule will be removed from MLUT. Captains who attempt to violate this rule will be removed from the tournament for violating the spirit of MLUT and have any map(s) played with the violating player forfeited to the opposing team.
4.09 Taunts
Excessive use of text taunts is illegal. Using taunts bound to movement keys, firing keys, weapon switch keys, or any other frequently used bind in the game, is illegal. First violations will result in a warning. ANY Repeated offence will result in the player being removed from the player list for the current season. EXCESSIVE USE is considered spamming a text bind more than 3 times in five seconds

Well, it seems we've already ventured into the territories of past MLCTF's and questionable conduct and rule "bending". Apparently, I need to add some rules that I thought we self-explanatory, and I need to edit some rules that weren't specific enough.
First of all, it has come to my attention that captains are working together to make it through the season sharing players each round. Wretchy and Bobo, I hate to pull your names out, but what you guys did was low-down, and honeslty I shouldn't even have to tell you that. You should both know that interteam trading isn't implemented on the site for a reason. Captains aren't supposed to help each other out by switching position players because their main started can't make the match. This is the entire point of having a roster larger than 5 players. Just because your starting defender can't make it does not give you the right to go ask another captain to borrow his starting defender. And frankly, I'm suprised another captain would even WANT to help a team out in this situation. Anyways, I can't do anything about this action, since at the time it wasn't illegal.
HOWEVER, from now on, there is a new rule that I will be adding to the Rules Section. NO PLAYER MAY PLAY IN MORE THAN ONE MATCH OR FOR MORE THAN ONE TEAM IN A GIVEN ROUND. Captains or players who attempt to abuse/bypass this rule will be banned. Period. This isn't fucking MLUT-Survivor, where its a competition to see which captains can make the best alliances to make it to the finals. If I see this again, you're gone (the captains, not the players). Period.
Secondly, it was brought to my attention that certain players, desolation in particular, have been spamming their taunt binds excessively during matches. Now, we all know that taunting with binds isn't illegal in MLUT, but we are ALL expected to use our good judgement in knowing what is "excessive." Now, since no one in the Splendid-2EZ match actually mentioned to DS that he was spamming excessively, no action will be taken. However, desolation should consider this his FIRST and LAST warning on the subject. ds is already treading on thin ice, and as we all know a ban at this point would be life-time for him. I'm not singling him out, he was the only one specifically named. I just want him to realize how serious I am about this.
Now, in order to CLARIFY/FIX this rule, I have decided to edit the rule to state:

The scene for this clip was the Roots vs. American Crime Syndicate matchup. After winning map one (Orbital) in an astonishing comeback win, ACS once again found themselves trailing, early into the second map (Lucius). After tying the score midway through, ACS was attempting to put the game away before reaching overtime, pushing 3 offense for the better part of second half. On this play, m3ss picks up his own amp, while durron grabs the enemy amp. Optimus grabs the enemy flag and manages to make it out middle by the amped cover of his teammates. Opti decides to cheese off of the frong wall of the enemy base, and this is where we pick up the video...

- desolation had his connection droppped mid map and lasted over 20 hours. However, for Klined it did not hurt us as much since it allows many people to run O. Unfortunately, our two offense who combine for over $1100 of my precious MLUT dollars both were severly lagged by the server and could not run. On Orbital, I played offense with NightX, who has never played offense and everything went wrong. Both went into OT, so I hope that shows people we can play with the big boys.

- So, do you think team chemestry will be a problem later on?

- Very doubtful. The problem is we have not scrimmed. I can never get 5 guys online at once even though I have asked many times. Prior to captaining Weegie informed me to keep in mind that certain players will not play with other players, and pose a chance of inner turmoil. I didn't think this was a big deal till I talked with players, other captains, former captains etc.

- Yes, every future captain should take it into consideration. As I am seeing right now, StarOcean is having that problem.

UTSportsCenter :: Sample Highlight Reel!

After the opening round of MLCTF VI, we're going to attempt to make the first "episode" of UTSportsCenter. So far I've received very little footage from the first three matches. I'm hoping this trend will change soon. We are planning on integrating many interesting and interactive aspects to our "shows". As of now, we've put stats on hold until next season, in hopes that we can reactive Apollo's ConoStats system, which will be much more comprehensive. In the meantime, we are concentrating on predictions, recaps, highlights, and even shoutcasting/pre/post-game shows.
In the hopes of sparking the player interest and participation in this venture, I've created a small sample highlight clip for you guys to watch and laugh at. This clip is very simple and rudimentary, I made it in about 10 minutes with newb footage of myself in a scrim, and I added some very basic commentary just to give you guys an idea of what I want to do with the good footage you guys supply me with. We want to add stuff like this to make recaps and post-game shows more enjoyable for the players. Anyways, if you would like to see what we are trying to do, please view my first:

Well, I figured we had to spice up these MLCTF seasons with something a little more fun and a little lame at the same time. So I came up with this UTSports thing, where myself and my compadres broadcast basically what's going on with this season of MLCTF, but do it with a little flava. Clarification of Scheduling Rules

Apparently, a few of the captains do not understand the rules of MLCTF, that have been almost exactly the same as they have been for 5 seasons now. I am here to clarify things.
Matches are PRESCHEDULED and CANNOT be RESCHEDULED whether captains agree or not. They have no say in when the matches are played. Teams have rosters larger than 5 players for a reason. If your top players can't make it to the match, or if you (the captain) cannot make it, you will need to make arrangements to ensure you have enough players on hand. If that means speaking to your players and making a few trades, then so be it. This is half the strategy in playing an MLCTF season, because due to scheduling conflicts a team's top five players might not always be available.
The ONLY thing that I can see allowing, is DELAYING a match if both captains agree on a time TOGETHER. The admins will not be handling this decision, and if one captain lies to you, then this is not our problem to deal with, which is why stuff like this is frowned upon. What I'm saying is, if you intend on pushing back a match by 30 min or so, you had better have some evidence to you guys agreeing on it, otherwise the other captain might screw you over.
Furthermore, if a team attempts to reschedule a match to a different DATE, or if in attempting to DELAY a match the match does NOT get played on the specified day, then BOTH teams will receive a FORFEIT for that given match and will receive ZERO points and the match will NOT be made up.
Gentlemen, there is a clear-cut REASON for having pre-scheduled matches for MLCTF. The speed with which are seasons our conducted is half the appeal. We WILL NOT DEVIATE from the procedures of previous seasons. Consider this the ONLY warning on the matter, and I expect neither myself, nor any of the other admins to receive ANY MORE PM'S ON THIS MATTER. Thank you.

Well it looks like we're going to have a go at yet another season of MLCTF here at ProUnreal. I'll be heading up the Admin Staff again this season, but as you can see, we can still use a lot of help.
