First map.. Indusrage.. started off with each team battling for position. Within minutes, BTB started overwhelming TOMB. Unfortunately, TOMB was missing a starter and had xpohb playing. Xpohb did the best he could. As BTB started bringing flags to mid, it became apparent that unless TOMB held the defense, they would get run over. With weak o-pressure on a map where o-pressure is a necessity, there was no chance that TOMB would hold the defense. BTB also had too good of a defense to make any kind of comeback against.
Second map was Bleak. NANM showed up and was able to sub in for xpohb. This was when I expected TOMB to split the match by coming out victorious. Things did not go for TOMB as one would expect. With Necroninja just wrecking left and right on offense and Cy/Inflames duo locking down the base, nothing seemed to go the right way for TOMB. I wasn't too sure what nanm was doing; it seemed as if he needed some time to warm up. The frag difference was 421 by BTB to 385 by TOMB, which was another factor that hurt TOMB significantly on a map like Bleak.
Player of the match: Necroninja. Played very well on both maps, especially Bleak, which I felt was a weak map for NN from previous experience of playing against him. He has really stepped up his game this season and that really makes things much easier for the rest of the team. |
