What an intense match up!
Today it was Rebecca Black vs sick.
MAP 1 : CTF-OrbitalLE105 (sick)
Both teams had a brutal MLIG season, Rebecca Black starting off with a STRING of losses, and never really having their top 5, and sick demoralized and destroyed by a disobedience of a rule. Both teams were in the bottom rankings, but some how managed to come back up. With Rebecca Black in 4th place (5th seed) and Sick in 5th place (4th seed), this match was going to be the hottest MLIG had seen so far, both teams wanting to prove they can win.
Orbital was an upset for Rebecca Black. With new IG players playing, the team lost communication and gave up the map 0-3. Sick was feeling good about their chances in this match, and they had all reason to.
MAP 2: CTF-GrendelKeep_Fixed (RB)
Rebecca Black was looking for some redemption in this map. With JYB stuck at a train stop, and vitz now in for sick, RB was looking for any chance to get JYB on grendel. It did indeed happen. With their new power player, Rebecca Black was looking to event he match score with a map win of their own. Grendel started out with a cap for Rebecca Black, easy right? No way. Sick, the team that had gone through so much to get to the playoffs, was not, and never about to give up. Their D held up, stopping IR nanm, and snky in their tracks in an attempt to further the lead. With vitz leading the O team, sick got their redemption cap, and were still in the running to seal RB's fate. After a long period of back and forth, and solid D on both sides, Rebecca black, with push up strategy sealed the map in their favor by capping again in the final minutes. This map went to RB
MAP 3 (TIE-BREAKER) CTF-SprintaCB4
After a huge misunderstanding, where the standings showed RB in 4th and Sick in 5th (when in reality sick had one more match win then RB, putting them in the 4th Seed), both teams worked it out by allowing sick to dictate the server choice.
CTF-SprintaCB4 was understood to be a powerhouse map for both teams. RB originally wanted CTF-Scandinavium-MLIG, but got SprintaCB4 instead. In the first minutes, RebeccaBlack advanced to the lead with a quick 2 caps. From there on out, Rebecca Black took a further lead, getting up to 4, and then finally sealed sicks fate in MLIG by getting all the way up to 6 caps, and only allowing 1 cap for sick.
By far the intensity level of this match was well beyond 5. GGS and good luck to both teams.
